Sevakendram, a service center, is a charitable organization to help the poor and needy people in the society. It has no barriers on any grounds- caste, creed, sex, religion, domicile, nationality etc. People from any part of the world can contribute or be a member through various schemes introduced by sevakendram. Also the support is not limited to any particular section of the society but people from all over the world suffering from any of the evils can enroll themselves and benefit through various schemes offered by the organization.
Humanity is the basic emanating voice of our conscience. Still we are unable to support the most helpless people unable to earn anything, suffering due to poverty, illness, physical disability and other dreadful diseases like cancer, AIDS, mental disease, organal dysfunctionality, elderly people without any income or thrown out of the house by close relatives and suffering due to destiny like divorced women, widows, childless aged couples etc.
They are the most loving creation of God who should be served as part of our service to the Almighty. In turn we all will be blessed by him with prosperity, peace and happiness for our generations. So it is our sole responsibility to support the needy people with utmost care which is the best service to God. However the circumstances prevailing around us may not encourage us to donate in large quantity to fulfill the needs of the many but even if a portion of our income is contributed kindheartedly, the needs of many can be fulfilled.
Our mission is to identify the deserving section of the society and bring them under the shade of Sevakendram so that we unitedly can uplift them and help them in leading a normal life. We can support in cash or kind through various schemes as listed below:-
- Free Meals :- Free meals are served for the underprivileged, patients in hospitals without adequate money, those affected by natural calamities and those unable to earn due to physical and mental defects, as serving food is one of the noble deeds.
- Pension :- Sevakendram organizes pension scheme to the people who are badly in need. We expect sponsorship for this scheme from those who have kindness to support more people.
- Medical Care :- We provide financial assistance and other types of medical aid to the patients suffering from incurable and dreadful diseases like cancer, AIDS, heart problem, mental disease etc. We also have schemes for counseling against alcoholism, free medical camps to create awareness about health and safety, vaccination for children and treatment by naturopathy and ayurvedic medicine.
- Food Material Distribution:- We organize to distribute basic food material like rice, sugar, vegetables etc. to those families who do not have any earning member , those suffering from permanent disability and incurable diseases.
- Vocational Training :- We undertake career guidance and support by providing training to develop skills like tailoring, handicraft and food processing etc to those who have been unable to complete their education due to certain circumstances and cannot earn their basic livelihood.
- Educational Support :- We distribute educational materials and school uniforms to the underprivileged. We also support the poor students by providing educational fees to them. We encourage the kind hearted donors to donate generously for this noble cause.
- Clothing :- We collect old and new dress material and distribute to the needy.
- Palliative care :- It is a treatment scheme for improving the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness. The goal of this treatment is to relieve the suffering, provide assistance for treatment of pain and other distressing symptoms, psychological and spiritual care to help the individual regain his individuality and lead a normal life and a support system to sustain and rehabilitate the individual’s family. Sevakendram has this scheme of providing palliative services to certain areas through home care and other means. We solicit everyone’s gracious help to for a wider coverage of such sorrowful families & individuals.
God has graced many of us with good heart and mind. This good heart and our conscience always advises for helping the others, it weeps while observing the needy. However the circumstances prevailing around us may not encourage us to donate in large quantity to fulfill the needs of many. Like a person himself with a meagre income and burdened with the responsibility of taking care of his old and sick parents, wife and children cannot extend his support financially to others. In that case sevakendram welcomes to be a volunteer and help the society through some of the ways as :
- Register the name of poor patients from any part of the world who cannot afford to pay for his medicine and other requirements.
- Inform his friends or relatives from the wealthy section about Sevakendram and encourage them to donate generously.
- Keep the attitude of serving people in whatever ways he could right from the doorsteps of his house. Eg. Providing free tuitions for the children of working class / labourers, donating the old clothes, unused medicines at home (after checking for expiry date), old furniture etc. to sevakendram.
